Cool Facts you Probably Didn't Know

If you read the title you probably already know that these are facts you probably didn't know. Now without a further ado lets get learning.

Fact #1- French fries are not french, but Belgium. During WW1 the Americans were stationed in Belgium. There they had fried potatoes, now called fries. The Americans really liked them and sense the Belgium Army spoke French they started calling them French fries. From then on we gave the credit to the wrong country, so next time you pick up a " French" fry call it a Belgium Fry for a change.    

Fact #2- The first person to make an American flag was... Betsy Ross. 

Fact #3- Who made the first computer... Charles Baggage.

Fact #4- Who made the first snowman... Bob Eckstein author of The History of the Snowman. He found out that snowmen went back all the way to medieval times.

Fact #5- Where did pot pie come from... it originated from Greece.

Fact #6- Bunnies have kittens. You are probably are like "wait what?" but before you hit your peak of confusion let me explain. Bunnies, or if you prefer to call them rabbits, have their young and they are called kittens just like a cats young.

Fact #7- Penguin babies are gray because when they are first born they need as much warmth as possible. The gray/brown coats are very warm and soak up as much sun as possible and keep the little guys nice and cosy. After 12 months they have their first malt and starts to look like their signature black and white tuxedo look.

Fact #8- Only males are called Peacocks, but females are called Peahens.

Fact #9- Baby elephants suck their trunk for comfort. Cutest fact EVER!!!

Fact #10- Tiger stripes are as unique as a fingerprint. None are exactly alike.

Fact #11- A grizzly bear bite is so strong that it could crush a bowling ball.

Fact #12- Sea Otters hold hands while sleeping so they don't drift apart.

Fact #13- Cats don't meow to communicate to other cats, but it is a method they use to get our attention.

Fact #14- Flamingos are naturally white, but their diet of brine shrimp and algae turns them pink.

Fact #15- Whitetail deer can spit at speeds up to 30 miles per hour.

Fact #16- Blue Jays mimic hawks to scare away other birds.

Fact #17- An average ear of corn has an even number of rows of 16.

Fact #18- Apples, pears and plums belong to the rose family.
